KTC Dallas

Karma Thegsum Choling Dallas (KTC Dallas) became an affiliate center of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra (KTD) in 1990, as a 501(c)3 not-for-profit in the State of Texas. A study group had met informally in living rooms and rented spaces since the late 1980’s.

KTD is the North American seat of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa, the head of the Karma Kagyu school of Tibetan Buddhism.

Lama Dudjom Dorjee and the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa

In 1998 we were joined in Dallas by Venerable Lama Dudjom Dorjee, teacher and author.  We are both honored and delighted to make the teaching and spiritual guidance of Lama Dorjee available to the local and regional community.

A more thorough history of our KTC Center can be found here, as well as the history of the annual “Union of Mahamudra and Dzogchen” Bluebunny Retreat, here. Also there is the independent but deeply affiliated Dawa Dolma Meditation Center in Denton led by Dawa Sangmu of Juliet’s Jewels in Denton, Texas.

MAHAMUDRA NGÖNDRO TEACHING SERIES AT KTC DALLAS

Lama Dudjom Dorjee Rinpoche will teach on the ordinary and extraordinary foundations of Mahamudra Ngöndro in a two-month, eight week series.

Beginning on June 11th, the class will meet every Wednesday at 7:30pm for eight weeks.

The price for KTC members is $100 for the 8 week series, and the price for non-members is $200.

The Mahamudra Ngöndro practices are profound and powerful means for effecting a deep purification and transformation at every level of our being.

Not only do they prepare the practitioner for the profound path of Vajrayana and teachings of Mahamudra, they also lead gradually towards the experience of realization.

    Note:

Lama Rinpoche would greatly refer that students take the entire series; if that will not work, the Ordinary Foundations series of four will be offered separately,  as will the Extraordinary Foundations series of four.

    The Ordinary Foundations – 4 classes – $60/members, $120 nonmembers

    The Extraordinary Foundations – 4 classes – $60/members, $120 nonmembers

ONGOING SUNDAY SCHEDULE

EventsKTC Dallas has a regular Sunday Practice schedule with Lama Dudjom Dorjee Rinpoche at the center in Irving.

Our Sunday programs start at 10am.  On the Sundays when Lama Dudjom Dorjee is in residence, there is usually a Dharma teaching from Rinpoche at this time. Usually there is also the opportunity for a short Dharma “interview” with the Lama after the teaching.

KTC Dallas is also one of the few Dharma Centers in the US that offers the Nyungne fasting and purification practice on a regular basis.  This is entirely due to Lama Dudjom Dorjee, who makes this amazing practice available to us. More about the Nyungne Retreats here.

Mahamudra Ngöndro Series Started Last Night

Wednesday, June 14 The Mahamudra Ngöndro series began with the reading transmission (lung) and words of introduction.
